Where to Buy a Used Padel Racket

Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in Europe, and demand for quality equipment — including second-hand rackets — is growing with it. Here's how to find a good used padel racket without overpaying or getting a dud.

Why Padel Rackets Are a Great Second-Hand Buy

Quality padel rackets are expensive new — €150 to €400+ for a serious mid-to-high end frame. The second-hand market offers significant savings: the same racket, a season old and in excellent condition, might sell for €70–180. For a player still developing their game, this is a rational purchase — why invest €300 in a racket when your technique is still evolving?

As the sport has grown, the resale market has deepened. More experienced players upgrade their rackets as their game improves, creating consistent supply of quality used frames. The buyer market is equally active with new players entering the sport every season.

Brands and Models to Look For

The established padel brands with strong resale markets include: Bullpadel, Head, Nox, Adidas, Wilson, and Babolat. These brands make rackets at multiple price points, and their mid-to-high range frames retain value well.

For intermediate players: look for models in the €100–200 new price range from these brands. Second-hand, these typically sell for €40–90 in good to excellent condition. They offer genuine performance improvement over entry-level frames without the full investment of a professional racket.

For advanced players: premium frames from the same brands (€250–400+ new) can be found for €100–200 second-hand, often in like-new condition — players at this level upgrade frequently and sell quality gear.

What to Check When Buying

Face condition: the face is foam-cored and can degrade with hard use. Check for significant depressions or soft spots, particularly in the hitting zone. Minor surface wear is normal; structural deformation is not.

Frame integrity: check for cracks, particularly at the bridge (the central piece connecting the two sides of the frame at the bottom of the head). Frame cracks make the racket unsafe to use.

Edge guard condition: worn edge guards can be replaced cheaply but heavy wear may indicate the racket has been frequently dropped or dragged. Some wear is normal.

Grip: check for deterioration of the grip material. A worn grip is easy and cheap to replace with an overgrip.
